Ken launched ShadowBox Pictures in 1987. It has been Ken's vision and dedication that has lead the company for more than 25 years. As Principal/Senior Director/Creative Director it is Ken's priority that ShadowBox always exceed it's clients expectations. Ken has directed many of the successful TV campaigns, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Ken has an incredible "directors" ability to execute a creative concept, evoking the best performance from talent and bringing both to life! In addition, Ken has directed 3 feature films and produced "Father of Invention" starring Kevin Spacey.

Jeff Young
Jeff Young, President/Executive Producer

Jeff Young is a direct response television pioneer and veteran with an extensive background in all aspects of DRTV. He joined ShadowBox Pictures as a principal in 1996 and has been responsible for the successful direct response campaigns of such prestigious clients as Neutrogena Skinid, Turtle Wax, FullBar, QUIBIDS, DISH, FocusFactor, DIRECTV, Zestra and Arm & Hammer among many others. In addition, Jeff has extensive experience in negotiating celebrity endorsements for numerous talent including Barbara Eden, MeredithBaxter and Louis Gossett Jr. Prior to ShadowBox, Jeff began his career in production and entertainment in Los Angeles in the mid 1980's. He has been the executive in charge of production overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of direct-response television campaigns. In addition, Jeff has produced 2 feature films for Shadow Box Entertainment.

John Rowley
John Rowley, Creative Content Developer

Creative content developer who understands how to build messaging that drives revenue generation. John has been a part of some incredible business growth opportunities. He is lifelong business development and marketing specialist. A 20 year career arc that has helped him develop a deep pedigree and understanding of the technology, media, education, sports, ad agency, publishing and entertainment businesses. His early path was in the TV publishing business where he and a small entrepreneurial group created, developed and brought to market the 3 main trade publications for the booming Cable TV industry. Cable World, Cable Avails and ON DEMAND magazines and the complimenting digital assets. The next chapter was the launch of Business 2.0 magazine that was the most financially successful business magazine launch in history. It was eventually sold to Time Warner. For the next 6 plus years John was a partner in MRA/ComGroup, a small NY ad agency that grew to national prominence with clients that included Comcast, Sallie Mae, J&J, ADT. The agency grew from 14 to 125+ people during that time. A switch in gears to the sports and entertainment experiential/activation space soon followed as Rowley was recruited to Alloy Media then GMR to create digital and linear content. Both agencies are considered the gold standard in their respective sectors. During negotiations with the Philadelphia Eagles, on a Sonic Branding initiative, an offer was made to develop a new division for the Philadelphia Eagles that would create assets/ inventory that would drive revenue and enhance the corporate partnerships and fan relationships. He brings a unique approach to online marketing that has a proven track record of success.

Michael Hetelson, Head Marketician

Michael has 18+ years of experience developing creative marketing and educational communications. He has helped clients ranging from Fortune 500's to startups across a variety of industries by delivering breakthrough product solutions into the marketplace. Michael has extensive experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical space and is a highly motivated, independent leader with a genuine and deep passion for improving the health and lives of patients. Throughout his career, Michael has built a strong portfolio of results and achievements with an emphasis on innovative, digital and mobile-based technologies.

Tom Ervin
Tom Ervin, Director

Tom has been directing successful DRTV campaigns since joining ShadowBox in 1999. He is responsible for dozens of ShadowBox DRTV long-form and short-form projects, as director, writer, and post-production supervisor. Tom's winning DRTV campaigns include children products with companies such as ColorLoco (BlendyPENS, Color Splitz, Sprayza), Magic Fabric, and Rainbow Brush.

In addition to being very comfortable working with children (and other non-professional talent), Tom directs hundreds of actors and voice-over artists from LA, New York, and everywhere in-between. He also interviews and coaches executives, entrepreneurs, and experts - directing them in an easy-going style through their on-camera appearances.

All these different characters have filled the talented casts for a variety of creative approaches that Tom enjoys directing, including: comedy, lifestyle, testimonial, spokesperson, straightforward product demonstrations, and conceptual animation.

Short-form spots directed by Tom are for: Applecore, Arm & Hammer, DirecTV, DISH Network, Inogen One, Nordic Track, Quibids, SenecaOne, TheaterNOW, Blue Hippo, and Perfect Pockets.

In long-form programs, Tom has optimized the blend of creative approaches to provide a fuller, more compelling story for consumers. His infomercials include: FaceFX(new), Psychic Source (new), Wall Street Mortgage Bankers, and the POWER-Trek Nordic Walking System.

Tamara Coyne-Barbet, Director of Client Services

Tamara has an amazing ability to make people comfortable. She is organized, and well versed in the creative process. She has very strong Art Direction skills which in combination with her management style helps our clients realize their vision.

Josh Nase
Josh Nase, Senior Editor

Josh joined ShadowBox Pictures in July 2013 after working as a freelance editor and videographer. During his time in freelance he worked with the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children to film and edit My Baby's First Teacher, a series of educational videos aimed at helping families in homeless shelters with early childhood development. Having graduated from Temple University's Film and Media Arts program with a focus on post production and documentary studies, Josh is eager to contribute his skills and gain even more professional experience on the Shadowbox Pictures Team.

Scott Ellwanger
Scott Ellwanger, Senior Animator

Scott Ellwanger has been leading our animation department since 2006. He has worked on hundreds of spots with ShadowBox developing and improving our computer graphics department. His expertise has been the key contributer to our animation, visual FX, CG environment designs, MOA animations, and motion graphics work. Scott studied Art, Traditional Animation, CG Animation, and Computer Science at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with high honors and receiving the "Most Outstanding Animator" award. Scott has also lead the CG team designing visual effects for the films "Father of Invention", "Cops and Robbers", and "Treasure Hunter - Legend of the White Witch". Completing hundreds of vfx shots in just months.
